Katherine's Hope

As you all know, Katherine was a month away from graduating high school at G. Holmes Braddock High.  Katherine ordered her high school ring, however she was working in order to pay for it on her own.  She placed her order in 2004 and gave her deposit.  The high school ring was made but for obvious reasons she never did pick it up.  Herff Jones subsequently returned it to their main headquarters. 

When I met with DJ Laz on September 11, 2007 for the first time to discuss the Katherine's Hope Foundation.  I told him about her high school ring and how I wanted to give the ring to her mother as a gift.  DJ Laz having the major "Heart of Gold" that he has, paid for the ring and got a hold of Mr. 305 himself, PITBULL and together they gave Katherine her high school ring. 

I thought I was giving them a surprise, a great gift.  However, I was the one that was surprised.  Enrique Santos and Joe Ferrero formerly from EL Zol 95.7 in Miami were at Katherine's home as well to share in this awesome day.  They are now conducting their morning radio show in New York.  They came to Miami to be here with Katherine and her family.  It was truly an amazing night. 

It was quite an emotional tribute and I would like to share the pictures with all of you.  It was my birthday and I couldn't have asked for a better gift.  The gift of giving, the fact that I am giving Katherine a second chance at life once she recovers is enough for me.  A truly happy day for Katherine, her family and myself. 

This is to just remind everyone that Katherine is a beautiful young lady that truly deserves a second chance at LIFE!
